GPIT Celebrates International Women’s Day by People and Organization


The event was expertly moderated by Manizeh Shahrin Sayeed from Strategy and Planning, P&O.For the first time ever GPIT celebrated International Women’s Day: Women Leadership, Inspiring Futures in grand style at North South University on 8th March, 2012. A host of prominent women were among the guests to inspire and motivate the ladies of GPIT. Along with the GPIT contingent were students from North South University as an initiative to inspire young minds. Participants received personalized flowers, books and gift vouchers for being part of this momentous occasion. Our CPO, Syeda Yasmin Rahman and CFO, Kjersti Thoen was among the esteemed panel of speakers along with our CEO Peter Anthony Dindial. Also joining them were Shaheda Mustafiz—Managing Director of 2020 Technologies, Mayeeda Choudhury—Head of Gender Equity and Human Rights of Action Aid International, Sonia Bashir Kabir—Country Head of DELL Bangladesh and Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury—Director and Dean of School of Business, North South University. It was a highly interactive session where several burning issues were openly discussed. The program ended with the inauguration of GPIT Women’s Council. The Executive Committee includes Rumesa Husain from Commercial, Zabeen Yusuf Nur from Technology, Jahrat Adib Chowdhury from Finance & CA and finally Manizeh Shahrin Sayeed from P&O.

It can be said with certainty that this council will be the start of something special for years to come. We look forward to a new dawn for the women of GPIT.
