Grameenphone Jersey Utshob concluded

The jersey crafted by Shezan Linclon won the first prize at Jersey Utshab, a contest arranged by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Grameenphone to get the best design for the jersey of National Cricket Team.
Winners were awarded in a gala event on December 4, 2010 held at a local hotel. Sourov Das Mithun was the first runner-up while Habibullah Emran ended as second runner-up. AHM Mustafa Kamal, President, BCB handed over the crest while Grameenphone CEO, Oddvar Hesjedal handed over the first prize check of BDT 300,000 to Shezan. Grameenphone CCO Kazi Monirul Kabir, BCB CEO, Manzur Ahmed, Shykh Seraj, Director and Head of News of Channel I and other senior officials of BCB and Grameenphone were present on the occasion.

Jersey Utshob started on October 19, 2010 and designs were received till November 14, 2010. During this time over 4000 designs were submitted and 100 designs were shortlisted with the help of Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology. A Judges panel consisted of Gazi Ashraf Hossain, Chairman Tournament Committee, BCB, Tahmeed Azizul Haq, Deputy Director, Market Communications, Grameenphone, Fashion designers Imdadul Haq and Farah Anzum Bari, Beautician Farzana Shakil, former Captain of National Cricket Team Habibul Bashar and former national cricketer Atahar Ali, selected 5 designs for final contest from the shortlisted 100 designs.   

At this stage top five designers were attached to 5 leading fashion house of the country namely Trendz, Cats Eye, Soul Dance, Artisti and O2 for grooming. Designers and groomers submitted their work to the judges and the winners were selected in a combination of marks given by the judges and vote received through SMS. SMS voting was open to the subscribers of all mobile operators in Bangladesh. Players of Bangladesh National Cricket Team, Bangladesh National Female Cricket Team, BCB-Grameenphone Cricket Academy Team and representatives of Zimbabwe Cricket Team were also present in the Gala Event. It is expected that this event will bring the supporters and the National Cricket team even closer during the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
